Invest in yourself

This is an excerpt from my upcoming book “The Live it Lifestyle: Dropping Diets Forever!” From Chapter: Abundance

Invest in Yourself

The best investment you could ever make is always towards your own growth, there is no resource spent on your personal development that will go wasted. In life we all have choices and to deny this fact is to live a life of quiet desperation. We are constantly surrounded by an overwhelming array of options and it is entirely up to us to choose from the menu of the universe as to what reality we want to experience. This may sound like a nice theory but if you carefully study the patterns of your own life story you will come across a similar conclusion. The details of life are always changing, shaping themselves according to our deepest desires, thoughts, and energetic interactions. The reason most people are experiencing the same results is because they are depositing the same investment in their life account.

The deposits we make in our lives are numerous ranging from the financial resources we spend, the food we eat, the liquids we drink, the relationships we engage in, the time we have and seeds we plant. I have come to the conclusion that the general nature of people in the world is one of good honest integral based attitude towards life, we are all doing our best with the tools we were given to carve out a life for ourselves. I come across many people with good hearts that could be powerful forces in the world but seem to fall short, I wondered why this was for many years and came to the understanding that it is all about how we invest our lives. Many people are consumed with spending their time and energy on other peoples needs they lose sight of their own, they are fastening someone else’s life support system and ignoring their own, pretending that it is selfish to turn inward when others are in need. This is a noble idea that I respect but misguided because it relieves another of their own responsibility to their life and it distracts you from yours. To help others in need is important but to carry them across burning coals when their feet are untarnished is sabotage, for both you and those you intend to support.

I encourage you to look deep inside yourself and find out what it is you need to create to allow the abundance you deserve for yourself and those you love. Every minute of our time is an investment, it may not seem like it in the regular flow of things but consider that you will never get that time back so you should use it wisely. Whenever you have an extra five or ten minutes in between projects or appointments direct your attention to the most conducive activity at that time. This is why I always carry a book with me wherever I go, if I have even a minute of idle time I like to open it to just skim through the pages and attempt to saturate my mind with positive ideas. Reading is so critical for the positive outcome of your life, the ideas of those that came before are sealed in the pages of time. There is no problem or dilemma you could ever go through that someone before you has not and I can almost guarantee it has been written down in a book somewhere, make it a point to donate time to  flip the pages and uncover the solutions.

When we spend money we are investing our time, effort, and resources into that which we purchase. It is not merely a matter of spending money for the sake of receiving something but inevitable it becomes an indication of what our true values are at that moment. In these times we must be selective of how we use our resources, if we regularly spend our money on frivolous things we will breed that of a like kind in other areas of our life. If we focus on material gains then we will cut corners where it is most important. I have seen those who make large sums of money skimp on their health practices not because they couldn’t afford it but because their values were not in tact. The continual practice of focused and attentive investing in ones life will produce results that steer one in the direction of their choosing, those that spend while looking elsewhere will end up somewhere they never intended to be.

If you make a habit of investing in those things that most serve you than you will reap the rewards that life has set up for you. If you let things that do not serve you fall away and increase your standards for your own life you can be surprised at how new options rise up for you. Choose to invest in the food you eat, choose to go 100% organic unwilling to settle for inferior food that contributes to the life you have left behind. Choose to invest in the people that support you, that encourage you, that compliment your life. Choose to invest each minute of each day to the constant and ever expanding progression of the life you have only yet embarked on, you are worth it!!

“Your economy has always been about the exchange of human energy: As contrast produces a new idea within any human consciousness, the Nonphysical Energy to supply it flows forth. The economy expands proportionate to the idea. There is no shortage of anything. Those who believe there is shortage, hold themselves over in this place where they disallow the Energy from flowing to them. And so, in their resistance, they have it not. And then they say, “I am proof that there is shortage. And that man over there that is awash in money is the reason I don’t have any.” He has nothing to do with your shortage. He is evidence that there is abundance.”
